No, you're eyes aren't deceiving you. Sure, a flurry or light snow shower is possible to start the work week next week, but in general there are no legitimate snow chances over the next 7 days. Boy, this is sure nice to see after the previous six weeks of weather.
But this forecast doesn't scream "SPRING!!!" either. Friday will be a very cold day across the region. Morning lows in the single digits and afternoon highs in the low-perhaps mid 20s will make it feel like a day in mid-January.
The weekend won't be the brightest. Temperatures will moderate a bit, especially Sunday, but in general clouds and some sun are likely. A flurry or snow shower is possible Sunday evening into Monday morning.
Beyond that, I have my doubts, especially near the coast. I am planning on releasing a blog post tomorrow detailing my thoughts on New England Springs and how they can be tricky/deceiving/stubborn at the coast. There are signs of a temperature trend that will bring readings much closer to normal. Some indications show parts of the area approaching 50 degrees during the middle of next week, however, we have an ocean sitting just off to our south and east with water temps ranging between 35-40 degrees. That should definitely hold temperatures back along our coastal communities even if inland temperatures trend warmer. Because of this high uncertainty, I have decided to keep forecast highs right around normal. Hopefully I'll be able to update you with more confidence by the beginning of next week!
